Designed to fit the Mazda RX8 gearbox to Cologne V6 based blocks


Typically used in Escorts Mk1 Mk2, kit cars and various classic RWD conversion.

This adaptor plate will allow you to fit a 2004-2008 Mazda RX8 6 speed gearbox behind your 2.8/2.9 Cologne or Cosworth BOA/BOB engine.

The plate is laser cut to ensure accuracy and repeatability, so all adaptor plates are manufactured and fit the same.

The four countersunk holes are used to align the centre line of the adaptor plate to the centre line of the crankshaft.

The plate is supplied with the four countersunk M10 screws for this. There are 2 dowels welded into the adaptor plate that then line the gearbox to the crank centreline that are tapped to accept fixings.

Your gearbox will need notching slightly to clear the nose of the starter you are using unless it is a lightweight/hi torque type unit with no nose. With this adaptor plate you will need a 2.8i type 9 flywheel, clutch and starter.

The adaptor plate is supplied with a machined input shaft extension which fits over the input shaft of the gearbox and into the crank.

If using the standard RX8 hydraulic slave cylinder a spacer is required to move the cylinder rearwards to clear the engine block.

If you are wanting to run a cable clutch conversion you will need the cable clutch kit and 20mm spacer as there is too much free play in the clutch height.
