The 225/210 hp 1.8T engines as fitted in the MK1 Audi tt, Seat Leon Cupra R and Audi S3 have a organic rubber hose on the intake manifold that feeds the brake vacuum system. This hose is prone to failure leading not only to a loss of engine power but also brake efficiency. The OEM replacement is only available with the hard pipes included, which incurs considerable unnecessary expense.
